In conducting a literature review the researcher:
- Creates a long list of different literature.
- Creates a long list of different references.
- Creates a long list of different theories.
- Sources literature, reads the literature and then writes a review of the literature.
Research projects are designed to make a contribution to some body of knowledge, consequently:
- The rules, processes and procedures of research are rigorous.
- Every researcher must be a member of a professional body.
- Every research project must be sponsored by a professional body.
- Every research project should be published in the media.
The conceptual framework provides:
- An insight into data analysis.
- A guide for the review of the literature.
- Information on the educational background of the researcher.
- Information on research experience of the researcher.
Most of the searches for literature are conducted using:
- Short sentence searches.
- Long sentence searches.
- Key word searches.
- Key letter searches.
In order to generate useful and thorough key word searches, the researcher develops:
- An affinity with words.
- An interest in libraries.
- Relationships with librarians.
- A search strategy.
A key objective of the search for literature is that the researcher:
- Develops their vocabulary.
- Develops their reading and writing skills.
- Learns how to use the library and its facilities.
- Develops an awareness of all of the literature relevant to the study.
The theoretical framework is:
- The first framework in the four frameworks approach to the research project.
- The second framework in the four frameworks approach to the research project.
- The third framework in the four frameworks approach to the research project.
- The fourth framework in the four frameworks approach to the research project.
The theoretical framework emerges from:
- The conceptual framework.
- Library sources.
- Internet sources.
- Data gathering.
It is important to plan and structure the literature review before:
- Developing a conceptual framework.
- Conceptualising the research statement/question.
- Writing the literature review.
- Outlining the aim of the research
Content analysis is a research methodology that is used when the research calls for:
- The analysis of the content of any building or permanent structure.
- The analysis of the content of any field.
- The analysis of the content of any business premises.
- The analysis of the content of any text or set of texts.
Content analysis can be used within different methodologies as:
- An approach to data analysis.
- An approach to data analysis.
- An approach to the conceptual framework.
- An approach to the literature review.
In reading the literature the researcher engages in:
- An evaluation of the library.
- An evaluation of the literature.
- An evaluation of the library’s electronic sources.
- An evaluation of the library’s location.
The literature reviewed must be:
- Reasonably easy to source.
- Readily available.
- Relevant to the research project.
- Required reading for the programme of study.
Referencing is:
- Quite important.
- Somewhat important.
- Not important.
- Critically important.
References detail:
- The source of the literature.
- The context for the research.
- The background to the research.
- The value of the literature.
